We left Sacramento at a little before 9 a.m., stopped at Panera in Vacaville and had a smooth drive down to SFO. We were at the Sky Park by just about 11 and were to the United international terminal before noon. The best deal was that I had printed off our boarding passes on line and so we walked up to a line with only one person ahead of us, they checked our passports and took our bags and we were all good to go. And there was a huge line we otherwise would have had to stand in. We got to our gate and had a good two hour wait. Christine and Sue went off and the kids and I hung around at the gate. I had made sandwiches and we eventually ate them. Saved us a little money I suppose.

We boarded the plane and then it happened again. An Indian family of a father, mother, grandmother, and 18 month old had camped out in a row and had actually taken over two of our aisle seats. Again I was asked to surrender my aisle seat. Remember last time I didn’t give it up and I left my ipod behind. Angry and not in a spirit of good will I gave up my seat for a middle and Robert gave his up too although he got an aisle, This meant we had a whole row and Christine agreed to keep the peace and stay in the window seat. What is the protocol here? Are you not a nice person for not giving up your seat or are you not a nice person if you ask someone to give up theirs? I supposed when it all shakes out, Jesus would have given up his seat.
Here is the Fodors thread I started on the topic. http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=2
